DESIGN MAKE & CRAFT FAIR 2017, SINGAPORE DESIGN WEEK

Weekend Worker and our students gather this year for an art and design showcase thoughtfully put together by SUPERMAMA and In The Wild. The ceramics works portray the personality and the distinct style behind each pair of hands that made it.

SingaPlural 2016 Project X - Senses

Project X shows you the results of the designers’ creativity crossed with a manufacturer’s expertise. One material, four teams of designers/artists from different fields pushing its limits to create a series of expressions and products. Witness the process as the collaborative research project is closely documented in its days leading up to the festival. Experience tactility as creatives engage in the 2016 conversation about senses.

SingaPlural 2015 Design Installation - Process

Clayground takes you on a clay-making journey with Weekend Worker as they reflect on each stage of the wheel throwing process. Upon entry, a wall of ceramic shapes and forms reflects the thoughts and considerations each ceramist has prior to creating a ceramic object. Hand washing at the end of each wheel throwing cycle has always been a therapeutic experience for all three ceramists of Weekend Worker. The routine provides a platform to reflect on their processes - what went well and what could have been done better.  As a symbol of their continual learning, a breakdown of the wheel throwing process will be displayed through seven ceramic basins aligned across the walls of the room.

Into Natures - A Christmas Pop up at The Letter J Supply studio

On December 2015, six like-minded creative individuals gathered to explore new possibilities. The collaborative space was set up with a purpose of allowing these individuals to have their ideas flow naturally in a cohesive environment, hoping that collaborative works will blossom when new friends are made. This residency allowed people to have a glimpse of their creative work spaces, have first-hand conversations to learn about their processes and allow you to appreciate the value behind their handmade goods.
